Honor 30S formalized: a photo-oriented Smartphone for a very attractive price

Honor 30S formalized

An honor presented a brand new mid-range Smartphone model, the Honor 30S, on Monday. The device seems particularly optimized for the photo but does not abandon for games either with its new Kirin 820.

Honor does not stop launching new models. While the Chinese brand unveiled its Honor View 30 Pro in China last November, it has announced its arrival in Europe in the coming months – alongside the Honor 9X Pro – and that it will also soon present its new range Honor 30, the brand of Huawei group also introduced a new device on Monday.

In China, the brand has officially unveiled the Honor 30S, a Smartphone that seems to be the very first model in the Honor 30 range, but which is displayed with specific characteristics of the mid-range and above all a relatively attractive price-performance ratio.

The Honor 30S unveiled this Monday is indeed equipped with the Kirin 820 chip. It is a more powerful chip than the Kirin 810 of the Honor 9X Pro – which you will soon be able to find the test on Frandroid – which succeeds itself to Kirin 710. Honor decided to accompany it with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Note also that the room can be extended using a Nano Memory card, the format pushed by the Huawei group since the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro last year.

On the side of the screen, there is a reasonably standard LCD panel with a punch at the top left and a definition of 2400 x 1800 pixels for a diagonal of 6.5 inches. The fingerprint reader is positioned on its side, like the brand’s latest high-end models. The same goes for the 4000 mAh battery, which is not compatible with wireless charging. Nevertheless, Honor ensures that the smartphone benefits from a particularly fast recharge for the mid-range, with a power of 40 W.

A COMPLETE PHOTO MODULE

It is especially for the photo that the Honor 30S manages to stand out. The smartphone is indeed equipped with a fairly complete optical kit, something relatively rare for the mid-range. There are thus four cameras on the back:

64-megapixel wide-angle main module, 26 mm equivalent (f / 1.8)

8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module, 17 mm equivalent (f / 2.4)

8 megapixel x3 optical zoom module, 80 mm equivalent (f / 2.4)

2-megapixel macro photo module (f / 2.4)

It should also be noted that Honor promises a lossless hybrid zoom up to x5 and a digital zoom up to x20. For selfies, the Honor 30S has a 16-megapixel camera with an aperture of f / 2.0.

The Honor 30S has only been announced so far in China. It will be available there next month for 2399 yuan, or 306 euros HT. When asked, Honor France told us that she had no visibility regarding possible marketing in France.
